Gilbert CPAs Welcomes Ryan McDonald as Audit Shareholder

Gilbert CPAs is pleased to welcome Ryan McDonald, CPA, CFE, CGMA, to the firm as an Audit Shareholder. Ryan brings more than 20 years of accounting and assurance experience with a strong focus on serving nonprofit organizations.

Most recently, Ryan served as a Principal with CLA (CliftonLarsonAllen) in the Sacramento area where he was responsible for nonprofit engagements across the firm’s PacWest Division. In addition to leading client engagements, Ryan was involved in office and industry leadership, employee development, business development and assurance quality initiatives.

Ryan’s background aligns closely with our longstanding commitment to serving nonprofit organizations, which represent a significant part of our client base and an important area of focus in our strategic growth plans. His leadership experience and knowledge of the nonprofit sector will add depth to an already strong practice and help us continue to grow our impact in the nonprofit community.

Ryan joins the firm at an important time. In recent years, several longtime shareholders have retired following decades of service to the firm and its clients. As we look ahead, we remain focused on building the next generation of leadership and positioning the firm for continued success.

“I was drawn to Gilbert because of its reputation, its culture, and the relationships the firm has built in the Sacramento community,” said Ryan. “Serving nonprofit organizations has been an important part of my career, so joining a firm with such a strong commitment to the nonprofit community feels like a natural fit.”

Ryan earned a Bachelor of Science in International Finance from Brigham Young University and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wyoming. He is a Certified Public Accountant in California and Arizona, a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA). He is also a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), California Society of Certified Public Accountants (CalCPA) and Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Ryan joins Gilbert CPAs as the firm’s ninth shareholder and newest member of the firm’s leadership team.
